Last month we mentioned our upcoming participation in the POPSeattle event from Seattle magazine on Saturday, February 21st from 6 – 9 p.m. To compliment the Bubbles & Seafood theme, Chef Sam Crannell will be making some delicious deviled eggs with smoked trout and salmon roe caviar. Just think about how awesome they will be with a glass of bubbly!
St. Patty’s Day will be here before we know it, and since it has been such a hit before, Chef Sam will be doing classic Irish dishes in his own fashion again this year. On Tuesday, March 17th, come on by for the LloydMartin take on corned beef and cabbage and other national dishes to enjoy alongside a Guinness.
Taste Washington is coming up March 26 – 29, and LloydMartin will be participating! He will be the featured chef of Experience #2 (“Exploring the Lush Snohomish Valley”) on March 27th during Taste Washington on the Farm, alongside Jeff Miller of Willie Greens Organic farm, Dan Albert of Farmbox Greens, and Robert Ramsay Cellars.
“Sloppy Hog BBQ Seattle” is coming up on April 1st as our annual one-night only popup restaurant! We’re still finalizing the menu, but for now it is planned to include smoked butter popcorn, deviled eggs with candied bacon, a pulled BBQ Pork sandwich, baby back ribs, smoked and braised shortrib, BBQ shrimp with grits gravy & 75˚egg, zesty BBQ pork sausage, duck or rabbit. Of course, there will be classic sides like loaded potato salad, skillet corn bread, mac and cheese, and maple bacon baked beans. We will have some awesome Gentleman Jack Daniels cocktails like Lynchberg Lemonade and whisky iced tea, and NW Peaks will be our featured beer of the evening.
Speaking of booze, you should order up a Barrel-Aged Manhattan while the goods last. The bourbon has been aging for almost six months! And you can bet that our house-made bergamot bitters will be a featured ingredient on our new cocktail list, which is coming in March.
Our vino-licious neighbor, Robert Ramsay Cellars, will be hosting a fun tasting event on April 14th. We’ll supply the food and they’ll supply the booze for a prix-fixe tasting event. There is space for only 14 people, so stay tuned to hold your spot before they’re gone!
We have some fantastic new white wines to highlight, including DeLille Cellars’ Chaleur Estate Blanc 2012, Naches Heights Vineyard’s (NHV) Strand Vineyard 2013 Pinot Gris, and the 2011 Slice of Pape Blanc from Tranche Cellars.
In food and produce, we’re welcoming some wonderful spring onions and delicious veal. Bergamot is also here, and we’re loving the citrusy flavor with our famous Hamachi crudo. Meanwhile, enjoy items like wild watercress, spring onions, black trumpet and hedgehog mushrooms while they are in season.
