Welcome back from your summer travels, everyone!
LloydMartin is gearing up for a fun fall ahead, starting with our 4th Anniversary celebration on October 3rd. This will be “A Feast Fit for Royalty”, served as a tasting menu for $120 per person (a wine pairing menu will be available for $60). Featured dishes include our signature Hamachi crudo and foie gras, lobster bisque, a Prime rib roast and other delicious, crafted dishes. A surprise treat made by our friends next door at Chocolopolis will be your final taste of this celebratory evening.
We have enjoyed serving French-style fare through September, but we will be returning to our normal New American, Northwest tasting menu in October. And as we get deeper into winter, we’re planning to return to Europe and feature Italian-style dishes.
Look forward to some fun, casual tasting nights coming up in November. We are planning to host two happy hour tastings, featuring whiskey one night and probably a local winery on another, with small bites to enjoy. These tastings will be about $50 or less per person, so stay tuned for more solidified details soon.
If you were around last year in December, you may recall a special steak dinner we had. It was a huge success and lots of fun, so we are planning to do it again this year – probably on the second Saturday of that month.
Time to talk about what’s new behind the bar! We just launched a new program of half-bottles for a small selection of wines, which is perfect if you don’t want to do a whole bottle. We also received some wonderful Taylor Fladgate Port, Los Amantes Mezcal Joven, and scored some allocated bottles of a couple of W.L. Weller whiskies (they’re the same guys that make Buffalo Trace and Van Winkle). We also have a bottle of Penderyn, wonderful single malt Welsh whisky that is aged in a Madeira barrel and a bourbon barrel before being bottled to enjoy. Ours is probably one of the only ones available to drink in Washington State at the moment, so you might want to enjoy a finger or two while this rarity is here.
Just in time for fall, we have some of Chef Sam Crannell’s favorite bottled beers. La Chouffe, Vieille Provision Saison Dupont, and Duvel are all wonderful bubbly, Belgian farmhouse-style ales that fit right in with the season. We also found a fantastic fall cider: Le Pere Jules.
Enjoy this seasonal transition, and we hope to see you at one of our upcoming events, or a random night out!
