From porcinis to morels, summer truffles and more, the mushrooms are here! Early in June, we expect to get a delivery of Australian winter black perigord truffles, which will be interesting. Melons will be coming soon, and we love melons in the summertime, so look forward to some innovative dishes with those.
In seasonal seafood, we’re currently presenting a pretty delicious seafood risotto that features some excellent Dungeness crab. We also just got some rare pure mullet roe (one of the most expensive ingredients in the world!), which we will be shaving over our house made pasta. Chef Sam Crannell is excited for an expected delivery of those ever-so-elusive Spot Tail Prawns in the next couple of weeks, as well as a shipment of Quinault River Blueback Sockeye Salmon arriving tomorrow.
A couple of spring produce items are taking a highlight spot on the menu. Shishito peppers are here and served up simple and delicious with just sea salt and olive oil. Look for a totally amazing white asparagus bisque in the next day or so, crafted with some really cool house made olive oil powder.
Speaking of crazy stuff like olive oil powder, we would like to take a moment to fill you in on a little behind-the-scenes of LloydMartin. You may not know it, but we take a very scientific approach to our food. For instance, when you order one of our meat items on the menu, it is cooked exactly to the correct temperature for that particular kind and cut of meat. The same goes for our sauces, soups, and beyond!
Now onto upcoming events…
When the Queen Anne Farmer’s Market starts up again on June 4th, we’ll bring back our Market Dinners on Thursday nights starting in mid-July. In case you’ve missed them before, Chef Sam Crannell visits the QAFM during the weekly summer Thursdays, and collects ingredients for a special one-night-only menu in addition to our usual menu selection for the night – for around $30 per person.
Please take note that in observance of Memorial Day, we will be closed this Sunday and Monday as usual, and we will also be closed on Tuesday, May 26th.
As usual for LloydMartin, we’ll be closed for a week or so over the Fourth of July week. This year, we are closed June 28th through July 9th.
