We’re finally seeing some early spring produce, now that the season is officially in session. In other news, we have some eats and drinks at LloydMartin that are certainly worth highlighting…
New on the Menu
Waygu beef is here, which we are excited to work with for some of our larger plates. We also have some fantastic day boat Alaskan halibut, which is caught one day, flown overnight, and served at LloydMartin that very next day.
Ramps, which are some very flavorful spring leek varietals, are here – we recently sautéed some and served them with kobe beef and Sauce Robert. We’re still waiting on morels mushrooms season to really begin, but we do have some trickling in.
We’re excited about the raw honey we get from Bees Choice Honey in Ferndale. This particular honey is harvested from bees who have pollinated the first growth of the season at the base of Mount Baker. This is some incredible honey.
If you just can’t wait for a taste of summer, we’ve crafted some housemade buttermilk strawberry ice cream! Right now, we’re serving it with double vanilla bean bourbon walnut banana brioche bread for a dessert.
New in the Cellar
Our wine list is constantly in flux, but two wines that you simply must try are the 1983 Brunello di Montalcino from Col d’Orcia, and Silex Sauvignon Blanc from Domaine Didier Dagueneau.
Rosé wine arrivals will continue to rotate through the spring and summer at LloydMartin, but you can expect about four or five to choose from. Right now, Ott & Murphy’s 2013 Chanson Rosé is available by the bottle, and a 2012 Le Grand Bouquetean Chinon Rosé is available by the bottle and glass pours.
New behind the Bar
Our gin selection is still growing strong, and we have recently added some very interesting clear grappas and fruit-based liqueurs. To name a few, we have two unique clear grappas from Lorenzo Inga (Barolo and Gavi de Gavi), fruit liqueurs from the Distillerie Artisanale Cazottes (Poire Williams and Reine-Claude dorée), and a Domaine d’Esperance Blanche Armagnac. All of these are excellent digestifs and apertifs.
NW Peaks is our latest rotating draft beer partner, and we’ll be offering seasonal drafts from this local brewer in the months to come. Right now, the Session CDA is on tap.
