Let’s get laid back and enjoy some great drinks and bites! It is summer, after all.
This season is best complimented with fresh, light cocktails. Shane is focusing on drinks that are citrusy and juicy, and staying further away from cocktails that are spirit-forward. Since they are lower in alcohol content, you can probably enjoy a couple of refreshing summer sippers. He loves using influences from around the world – one of his favorites on the LloydMartin cocktail menu is the 25th Season, with its sake base.
Shane recommends the 25th Season, LloydMartin’s gin and tonic (made with one of the house tinctures), and the Backyard Rootbeer, which is a boozy play on childhood memories.
If you’re looking for something classic and house-made, order up one of our barrel-aged cocktails. A Manhattan, Negroni, or Toronto is just the thing. Shane is doing all kinds of creative things behind the bar, in addition to the barrel-aged cocktails… He’s aging some gin, experimenting for the fall/winter cocktail menu, and keeping up with our small house-made tincture program. Coming soon, look for a featured cocktail-of-the-night, which will be a more spirit-forward special.
The wine list also has some nice summer focus going on. Not surprisingly, we’re focused more on lighter reds and more offering of white wines and rosés. Domestic wines take a stronger part of our wine list, but we take extra care to offer as diverse a selection of grape varietals as we can.
Starting next week, we will be adding a little something to Wagyu Wednesdays… The J. Lohr Hilltop Cab Combo! Enjoy two glasses of the J. Lohr Hilltop Cabernet Sauvignon with a wagyu burger for $35.
And after a long day out on the water, the last thing you’re going to want to do is cook a meal in the hot kitchen.
We’re all stocked up with summer truffles, crudo, handmade pasta, and a bounty of summer produce. The best quality prime rib eye, pork and even dry-aged beef comes and goes, so visit us to enjoy it while it’s available.
Look out for a daily Featured Dish! We will be offering something special every night of the week – don’t worry, Wagyu Wednesdays are sticking around.
Enjoy the rest of your summer, and we hope to see you soon!
Please remember to support your local restaurants, because we can’t survive without you! And tip your waitstaff well – they work hard for it and deserve some appreciation.
