Happy Holidays! We hope you’re all out there wrapping up all of your holiday shopping, planning your Christmas dinners with confidence, and keeping your naughtiness to a level just high enough to have fun without putting your nice list status in jeopardy…
In the meantime, we have some things to look forward to in the coming weeks at Lloyd Martin.
Since a good meal often starts with libations, let’s start there. We recently acquired a fantastic new rye, called The Boss Hog from Whistle Pig Whiskey. It’s aged for 12 years and hand bottled for amazing, barrel-strength straight rye whiskey. Another recent addition to our bar’s shelves is The Balvenie’s Caribbean Cask single malt whiskey. It has rich, sweet and creamy toffee notes for its aroma, with vanilla and sweet oak flavoring and a touch of fruit. Lloyd Martin also has two very special bourbons from Four Roses – a small batch with a creamy, mellow flavor that is rich, spicy, moderately sweet and well-balanced; and Four Roses’ single barrel bourbon that has hints of plum and cherries, with a full bodied, robust taste on the palate.
If whiskey isn’t your thing, we’re always updating our cocktail menu with delightful craft cocktails! And you can always expect to find a fantastic selection of wines. Right now, we have a couple of new, wonderful sparkling wines – great for holiday celebrations! These newbies include the Nicolas Feuillatte Brut Reserve and Chartogne-Taillet Sainte-Anne Champagne Brut.
On the plate, we still have lamb coming in, so be sure to drop by and enjoy the daily creations before it’s gone! Chef Sam is also having fun with Périgord truffles, lately. As 2013 comes to a close, expect some big plates and big flavors on your plate at Lloyd Martin, with items like Wagyu beef, rack of pork, yummy duck and truffles. We also just received a fresh shipment of Benton’s ham!
Also, don’t miss out on our incredible (if we do say so, ourselves) flourless chocolate cake! It’s covered in Callebaut chocolate with house-made peppermint ice cream.
As a side note, our famous White Bean Mousse recipe is now in a cookbook (for sale at the restaurant for $20)! When you purchase yours at Lloyd Martin, all proceeds go to charity. But this means that you shouldn’t expect to see this longest surviving dish in the New Year.
Please remember that we will be closed December 24th through the 26th to enjoy Christmas with our families, and we will also be closed January 1st for New Year’s Day. We are, however, open on New Year’s Eve for our New York celebration!
We are currently taking reservations, so give us a ring at 206-420-7602 to hold your seats for $160 each (as of right now, there’s only a handful of seats left!). Remember that Lloyd Martin staff must confirm your reservation in order for it to be set.
We wish you and yours the best this holiday season, and we look forward to spending a little bit of the holidays with you!
